Edward V. Crites

Licensed in Missouri and Illinois, Ed has represented individuals, physicians, businesses and municipalities in matters involving personal injury, professional negligence, employment discrimination, commercial, insurance and construction disputes. In addition to trying more than 30 jury trials, numerous non-jury trials and administrative hearings, Ed has also handled appeals before the Eighth Circuit U.S. Court Appeals, Missouri Supreme Court, Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District, Illinois Court of Appeals, Fourth and Fifth Districts and the Illinois Workers Compensation Commission.

Ed has lectured in the areas of civil trial practice before the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the University of Missouri-Kansas City, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and Washington University School of Medicine. He has served as a mediator, has represented physicians in Board of Healing Arts investigations, and has authored articles appearing in the Journal of the Missouri Bar and the St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Journal, as well as portions of Missouri Practice (West, 1997).

Ed attended Missouri State University where he received his B.S. cum laude in 1976 and St. Louis University where he received his M.A. in 1980 and his J.D. cum laude in 1983. He is a volunteer Guardian ad Litem (GAL) for St. Louis County Family Court and has served on the City of Warson Woods Board of Adjustment and as provisional Municipal Judge. He has served on the finance counsel and school board of his church, and volunteers with Habitat for Humanity.

Ed was awarded an AV Rating by Martindale Hubbell® which is the highest rating possible for superior legal ability and ethics.

An avid runner, Ed enjoys competing in marathons. He and his wife Laura have three children.
