Richard J. Behr

With over 25 years experience in State and Federal courts in the Midwest, Rich has successfully tried over fifty cases in Missouri, Illinois and Iowa.  He regularly defends hospitals, doctors, and nurses in high exposure litigation. He also represents municipalities, their board members and employees in complex litigation. Rich has been a speaker for the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, has presented seminars to hospital risk managers across the country and regularly advises businesses and municipalities on employment law issues.  Though Rich typically defends individuals and organizations, he also has experience helping people who have suffered serious personal injuries and unfair job loss.

Rich has significant experience defending medical malpractice cases as well as representing businesses in a wide spectrum of issues. He routinely represents employers on complex employment issues such as non-compete disputes, wrongful terminations and discrimination claims based on age, sex, religion, or ethnicity.  Rich was awarded an AV Rating by Martindale HubbellSM, which is the highest rating possible for superior legal ability and ethics.

Rich attended Rockhurst College on a combination academic/athletic scholarship (’82-’84). He received his undergraduate degree with honors in Accounting from St. Louis University in 1986 and earned his J.D. from St. Louis University’s School of Law in 1989, where he was a member of the Law Journal.

Rich is a member of several local bar associations in the greater St. Louis Metropolitan area and is active in his parish, Immacolata.
